Pre-owned in good condition, this Ibanez ST50 features a laminated mahogany body with a set-in maple neck & rosewood fretboard.
This guitar plays well but is not without some battle scars including some lacquer dings and chips as pictured. It appears to have been refinished in white previously and the machine heads have been replaced with Schallers. The frets also show wear and there are some screws missing from the back plate.
A neats '80s Ibanez made by Dyna Gakki in Japan. Comes with hardshell case.
From Ibanez Wiki
"The ST50 is a Studio series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1979. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The ST50 features a laminated mahogany body mated to a set-in laminated maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez V2 humbucking pickups with exposed cream bobbins mounted in cream pickup rings, a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar fixed bridge with Quik Change tailpiece and VelveTune II machine heads. The output is mounted on the face of the guitar.
For 1980 the body was changed to birch and mahogany.
The ST55 is a similar model with individual volume and tone controls for the pickups. The ST100 is a related model with a maple, walnut and mahogany body.
The ST50 was discontinued after 1980."
