A very exciting new arrival, this stunning vintage Gibson ES-335TD in classic Sunburst finish, complete with its original Gibson-branded hard shell case.

This is a particularly appealing early-’70s ES-335, combining the unmistakable look and character of a vintage Gibson with an excellent playing feel, This consignment guitar has just arrived and presents beautifully for it's age!

The guitar retains its original frets, nut, pots, wiring and electronics. It has a wonderfully authentic early-’70s feel, including the narrow neck profile that measures approximately 40.10 mm at the nut.

Dating Gibsons from this particular era can be difficult, so we are listing this example as 1971–1972 rather than claiming a definitive year.

Several details point toward a late 1971 / early 1972 production period. These include the unique neck volute and 3 piece construction, the Gibson logo configuration, and the rectangular purple/black/white label used by Gibson inside its electric semi-hollow guitars from around 1970 onward.

There appears to have been some light refinishing to the back of the headstock. This leads us to believe the guitar may have experienced a minor headstock repair at some stage in its history. If so, the work appears to have been carried out very well and many years ago. 

Overall, this is a very nice example of a vintage Norlin-era ES-335 with plenty of original character, a great playing neck profile!
