Do You Have a Trade In?

A superb example of the iconic Fender Stratocaster from the highly collectible International Series. Originally finished in Arctic White, the polyurethane has naturally aged over time, giving the guitar a beautifully mellowed, creamy yellow hue that perfectly suits its vintage character.

We're very pleased to have the whole set of 9 'International Series' colours currently in stock! (At least for now, at the time of writing).

Produced between circa 1979–1982, the International Series marked a distinctive and colourful era for Fender. These Stratocasters featured the classic three-bolt neck design along with black plastic knobs and pickup covers mounted on a laminated white pickguard — a look that has since become synonymous with this short-lived and desirable run.

There is some confusion regarding the exact 'year' of this run, as the headstocks show the 'S9' prefix associated with 1979 production, however as you can see, the body is stamped 1980, and the pots 1979. For the sake of simplicity, we have opted to label the set as '1981' guitars, as it is widely believed the International Series guitars were circulated in 1981.

This example offers excellent resonance, great balance, and classic Strat tone, making it equally appealing to collectors and players. As with most late 1970's era guitars, they are a little on the weighty side, but still have a great vintage tone and vibe.

This guitar presents very well and retains strong vintage appeal. The aged finish has developed an attractive yellowed patina, adding depth and authenticity to its appearance.

The frets show light, honest wear but remain in very good playing condition with plenty of life left. The hardware is in good shape overall, with only slight corrosion visible on the back plate. The screws remain fully functional and secure.

The dark rosewood fretboard provides a beautiful contrast against the aged finish and enhances the guitar’s classic aesthetic.

The International Series was only produced for a short period, making these instruments increasingly hard to find — particularly in well-preserved, original condition with the original case.

With its naturally aged finish, balanced 4.31kg weight, and resonant three-bolt construction, this Arctic White Stratocaster is a wonderful piece of early ’80s Fender history and a fantastic addition to any vintage collection.
