Do You Have a Trade In?

A great-playing, modified 1969 Fender Telecaster Custom with plenty of character. Based on the visible features and remaining finish clues, the guitar was very likely originally a 3-Tone Sunburst model with a double-bound body. It was acquired by its previous owner in the mid-1970s and refinished in Arctic White shortly afterwards, replacing an earlier matte black refinish. Evidence of the black finish can still be seen in the neck pocket photos.

It retains its original pickups, which were professionally rewound in the early 1980s by legendary pickup maker Seymour W. Duncan. The guitar also features non-original Schaller tuners, bridge, brass saddles, pickguard, control plate, pots, and a phase switch.

At some point in its life, additional routing was carried out beneath the pickguard adjacent to the control plate. We're not entirely sure of its purpose, though it may have been for an additional switch mounted to the pick-guard. This routing can be seen in the photos.

Overall, the guitar presents well and plays great. A nice and affordable vintage "bitsa" that's equally suited to someone looking to restore it closer to original specification or simply enjoy the character and modifications it has accumulated over the years.

Supplied with its original Stamford case as pictured.
