Pre-owned in very good condition, this Gretsch Viking 6187 looks fantastic in its original Shaded Golden Sunburst finish. The Viking is a very unique guitar that was priced behind only the White Falcon in it's day. The serial number of this guitar dates it to February 1972.

This guitar has been looked after well but does show obvious signs of use and wear from the last 52 years. There are scratches, dings and patina to the hardware consistent with its age (as pictured). The frets also feature a fair amount of wear/flattening but still have some life left in them.

The original tuning fork that was suspended inside the guitar along with the roller bridge and mute have been removed previously for a more traditional playing experience. The original mute lever has also been removed.

This guitar features 2 awesome SuperTron pickups which sound fantastic, a Bigsby with very cool art deco style arm, an ebony fretboard with original frets (slightly angled from factory at 10th to 21st fret to help with intonation). The original tuners are fantastic and much smoother than many modern machine heads even with 50 years of experience on their side!

The control system on this guitar is also very unique with a 2-way standby 'kill' switch, standard 3-way pickup selector, preset EQ selector, 2x individual pickup volumes and a master volume.

This is a very cool piece of Gretsch history for the collector or player alike, comes with original hardshell case.
