Now this a very special 1986 Gibson Les Paul Custom lefty! Finished in the classic Ebony 'tuxedo' finish, this is a wonderful find for the left-handed player. These Norlin-era Les Paul Customs only continue to get more desireable as they age, and represent both a lovely vintage buy, and solid investment that will only continue to appreciate over time.
This example is in fantastic original condition, with a rich lutrous black lacquer finish, and only light tarnishing to the gold plated hardware (many have the gold completely worn off). There is also a distinct lack of chips, and serious dings like we commonly see on instruments of this age.
All original, with all 4 pots dated 1985, and 2 original pickups & hardware. The only minor exception is 4 back plate screws, which swapped for black ones (of the correct size).
It came to us with minor headstock/neck damage at the nut area (a common area on these non-volute headstocks). We had Dave at Southwest Guitars Repairs do a complete professional repair (including stress test) to ensure it is future-proofed for the next owner. The only evidence is the new finish is slightly glossier, but will fade over time.
The C neck, Ebony fretboard, 12” radius, and 1 11/16” nut width making this Gibson Les Paul comfortable and fast to play.
It’s not light, but its weight is reflected in its bold, thick tone and sustain.
Weight is approx 4.95kg on our scales.
A classic Les Paul Custom that is becoming more and more sort after!
Comes with original Gibson USA 'Chainsaw' hardcase.
