Do You Have a Trade In?

Pre-owned in very good condition, this St Blues 61 South is a nice, lightweight semi-hollow guitar. A familiar yet unique instrument, this guitar features a p90 in the neck position and a single coil in the bridge.

There are light signs of wear including some pick marks and very light patina of the hardware. The frets feature minimal wear and the one-piece maple neck plays very nicely.

At great instrument for the player that wants a versatile semi-hollow guitar with unique styling. Comes with original St Blues tweed case.

St. Blues Guitar Workshop’s newest guitar, the 61 South, is named after a famous highway, US Route 61, a long and historical road that begins in New Orleans and eventually ends up in Minnesota. Known as the “Blues Highway,” Route 61 has been the namesake of songs and albums from artists such as Son Thomas, Mississippi Fred McDowell and Bob Dylan, while the intersection of Route 61 and Route 49 in Clarksdale, Mississippi is where Robert Johnson was alleged to have traded his soul to Mephistopheles in exchange for a mastery of the blues.

It should then come as no surprise that St. Blues, a company recently relocated to Memphis, itself a city steeped with blues tradition and widely recognised as the birthplace of rock n’ roll, would chose “61 South” as the moniker for their new electric, combining the familiar St. Blues silhouette with hollow body construction methods, providing players with new ingredients for their harmonic stew.

All St. Blues guitars and basses feature the company’s custom wound pickups and electronics system. The company''s pickups are known for nailing vintage tones with period-correct designs, magnets and wire, the result of a painstaking process of deconstructing and analysing pickup windings from vintage instruments.
