Pre-Owned in very good condition with some minor wear as to be expected of a bass of its age, but no signs of a abuse. There are some superfluous surface marks from picks and a few dings, but nothing down to the wood. It has been fully cleaned and set up with a nice buttery low action. Includes hardshell case.
Here we have an exceedingly rare offering from Rickenbacker dating back 27 years to 1995. The 2020 model was a creation of John C. Hall in an attempt to introduce something new and exciting in the Rickenbacker lineup. Unfortunately, most of his 2000 series models were short lived as fans only seemed interested in the heritage lineup. According to Rickenbacker, only 9 2020 models are registered and only 1 in the Jetglo finish (this one).
The bass is solid maple construction with a bolt on maple neck and fingerboard. It weighs in around 9 pounds and is full of life and sustain. It sports 2 unique humbucking pickups, the highlight of the 2000 series instruments, which deliver a full, fat and punchy Ric sound without the noise of single coils. It has full Schaller appointments, as to be expected, which offer a wide range of adjustability and fine tuning.
The pots and jack have been meticulously replaced with full size CTS pots, orange drop tone cap, treble bleed mod and a Switchcraft jack. The knobs have also been swapped for ones in keeping more with the traditional Rickenbacker styling.
