The Cole Clark Fat Lady 1 series guitars are simple classics with all of the ingredients for a fine acoustic instrument. Constructed with all-solid tonewoods, its solid Bunya top gives a beautifully balanced and articulate tone, and a strikingly earthy appearance. With solid Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides and a Queensland Maple neck, the guitar has stronger mid frequencies and is not a bright sounding as its Queensland Maple back and side counterpart.
The Fat Lady 1AC is the best-selling version of Cole Clark’s iconic Australian guitars. It is the guitar of choice for players who like a cutaway body style for enhanced playability of the over-body frets, and also need to amplify their guitar for performance or recording.
The FL1AC is fitted with Cole Clark’s FaceBlend amplification system, which allows seemless blending of the preloaded 6-piezo undersaddle bridge transducer with the Face Sensor pickup mounted internally on the soundboard. The second slider on the preamp allows frequencies above the preamp’s 350Hz cross-over to be mixed from soundboard or bridge pickup, while the big clean bottom end frequencies are always sourced from the bridge pickup, which helps control feedback. This amplification system is trusted by some of the world’s foremost acoustic guitarists to faithfully deliver accurate and dynamic reproduction of the guitar’s natural acoustic voice.
Includes high performance Cole Clark premium gig bag!
It is worth noting about Cole Clark’s range that all guitars in the Fat Lady series, even the Fat Lady 1 series, are made with all-solid timbers and utilise the same construction techniques such as the internally carved lattice braced top, and feature a Spanish (integral) heel to yield a stunningly accurate and resonant fitment.
The Fat Lady 1 series guitars have few of the traditional decorative appointments. Attention is given to the natural beauty of native Australian tonewoods, finished with a masterfully thin satin Nitrocellulose lacquer. Simple hand inlaid Rosewood rosette and purfling lines, and a solid Rosewood fingerboard position marked with small pearl dot inlays are included to complete the understated yet accomplished aesthetic.
